Just over two years' ago, Action Against Hunger's mailing list sat at 7,000 supporters and our brand awareness was low. But by using an agile approach to digital mobilisation and reacting to current affairs, we've rapidly increased this to over 110,000.
The key to this success was introducing new, collaborative ways of working between our Communications, Public Engagement and Advocacy teams, alongside our partner agency Forward Action. Every week, we meet to review the latest data and scan the news to spot opportunities to develop new acquisition tools, design new creatives and ensure we’re getting the best ROI possible.
This has transformed our digital campaigning and fundraising, allowing us to respond quickly to conflict and emergencies like in Gaza and Sudan. Our Gaza ceasefire petition - mainly promoted through Meta ads and email - has attracted over 250,000 signatures and our Sudan ceasefire petitions have over 4,000 signatures. This has also created a new income stream for the organisation, with over £80,000 donated through daisy chain asks and over 2,000 new regular givers recruited.
